What I’m wearing for Easter 🙌🏻

My mom blessed me with the most beautiful eyelet set for my birthday this year from none other than @antoniomelaniofficial and I wanted you to see all the beautiful detail.

Before discovering spring colors love me best, I definitely would have grabbed something muted from the summer palette for Easter. Looking back, I was (accidentally) hiding. At 44, I’m willing to put on bright yellow and shine— even if I’m still slightly reluctant.

If you (like me) have been avoiding this happy color, let this be your encouragement to try it. I can’t get over how great yellow looks on a redhead and suspect once you try it you won’t be able to unsee the difference either. Now I just need to get the Smith men ready 😜

I’m about to board for a 10 hour flight and am so glad I grabbed this wide leg sweat set for 🌸 Springs/Winters ❄️. For a “non sweats”person, I’m really liking the fit of the wide leg version. This set is soft and warm — perfect for a long plane ride.

OOTD — style over color

These days, I rarely wear anything except Spring, so when this dress dropped, I hesitated. The stripes and cut fit my style, but the color doesn’t light up my face the way coral and yellow do.

The background is an oatmeal and the stripe sits between dove and charcoal gray IMO. An argument could certainly be made that the oatmeal background makes it more Spring than Winter, but either way, I kept it because I love the way I feel in it. Plus, I like having some variety in my wardrobe. It’s a win for me.

So fun to get away together. This suit was my splurge item and I could not love it more. Perfectly spring with a kerry green and spring pink flower. Knowing my best colors is such a game changer. ❤️ 🌸

From Inspiration to Reality.

In case you missed it, this is one of the inspiration looks from the Spring25 reel and an effort to get more wear out of these Gap factory sweatpants (sold out). It’s not my “style” but trying new things is what this journey is all about, right?

It fit the bill for nails and a spray tan, but now I think I need new sneaks. Found a great Spring 🌸 option with an even better price. 😂

I love shopping my own closet. This OOTD fits my style personality to a T. The wrap skirt has an angled effect and the print is large scale. Skirt is still available *on sale* and works for ❄️ and 🌸 IMO. I pair it with a bright blue sweater tee (sold out) or tank top to lean more into Spring and love it.

Valentine’s Weekend 2025 – one for the books. We stole away to the quaint @pursellfarms in Sylacauga, Alabama for a golf/spa weekend with some of our best friends and were absolutely blown away by the top notch customer service, fantastic food and all around 5 star experience — in spite of tornados and a power outage. These little getaways feel priceless.

About last night… the most amazing meal at @pursellfarms Arrington restaurant to celebrate Valentine’s 2025.

Choosing to remember the hard, the good — ALL — the last year has been while also welcoming a year of new beginnings is a huge rhythm for us. This last year has been hard. Raising teens in a blended family while struggling with infertility isn’t something I’d wish upon anyone. It’s deepened us and (hopefully) made us more of who God intended we would be.

There’s been lots of joys along the way with travel to new places, long lake days and time together. And 2025 is an opportunity to dream new dreams. I plan to find some sequins and celebrate big.

Pink, red, and orange are the hardest colors for this redheaded spring to wear near my face. Do I get compliments that prove it’s a me issue?? Yes, yes I do.

It’s a mental block for me— one that is easier with a striped sweater like this one from JCrew last year. (I’ll link up a similar one) The neutral #hochoney helps to soften the brightness of #hocshockingpink for a reluctant spring. And since the pink is a crossover with our #hocwinter friends, I paired it with a light wash denim and my new favorite #hocchocolatebrown kicks so we have some color dimension without being too matchy-matchy.
